Job Overview:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the acquisition of goods, materials, and services in support of company operations. This position plays a strategic role in ensuring that procurement activities align with company goals and regulatory requirements. The Procurement Specialist exercises independent judgment and discretion in supplier selection, contract negotiation, and policy interpretation as well as building and maintaining supplier relationships. The ideal individual must manage the procurement process from initial inquiry to final delivery.

The Procurement Specialist exercises independent judgment and discretion in supplier selection, contract negotiation, and policy interpretation as well as building and maintaining supplier relationships. The ideal individual must manage the procurement process from initial inquiry to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that support organizational objectives and cost-efficiency goals.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and performance data.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors, including resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Responsible for order management including placing orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Analyze procurement data, forecast demand, and develop sourcing plans to mitigate risk and ensure supply chain continuity.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and orders within delegated authority.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, internal policies, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, operations, and other internal stakeholders to develop vendor agreements and manage contract lifecycle.
- Recommend and implement improvements to procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
- Prepare and deliver reports to management regarding procurement performance, cost savings, and vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and negotiation tactics.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make sound business recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to vendor sites or company facilities as needed.
- May require extended hours during peak sourcing or implementation periods.
