Job Overview:
The Production Lead plays a key role on the shop floor by coordinating work, supporting, and coordinating activities for team members, and ensuring production tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on time. This hands-on position serves as a liaison between the production team and supervisors, helping to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Production Supervisor in coordinating daily work assignments and prioritizing tasks based on production schedules.
  • Monitor team performance and provide guidance to ensure, (SQDCIP), safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Serve as the go-to point of contact for questions and issues that arise during the shift.
  • Ensure proper setup of equipment, availability of materials, and readiness of workstations.
  • Train and mentor new employees and help develop team skills and cross-functional capabilities.
  • Support quality checks and ensure parts and products meet specifications.
  • Identify and escalate equipment, material, or personnel issues to supervisors as needed.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Encourage a positive team environment focused on safety, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Assist with reporting and documentation, including time tracking, shift notes, and performance metrics.
  • Support initiatives to ensure compliance with Safety and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Promote and sustain safety programs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least one year in lead role, preferably with exposure to metal fabrication, welding, machining, or assembly.
  • Previous leadership or lead role experience is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of safety practices, production processes, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and use basic measuring tools.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to motivate and lead a team.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competency with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
  • Competency with CAD software, (Solidworks, AutoCAD), and CNC Programming.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a custom or project-based manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or other continuous improvement practices.
  • Working knowledge of ASME, AWS, AISC and ISO9001.
